White Hills Cash is a tribal lending firm and on the surface the company resembles so many other online loan shops. However, when you search the internet for reviews there are many complaints. In fact there are too many complaints. This doesn't happen too often here but the fact that the complaints are piling up out there causes great concern about making any kind of a recommendation for this company.
It's always amazing to me that at least one (or two, or five) of these Native American lenders doesn't just break from the mold and start offering loans with a lower interest rate. If nothing else they would get some good publicity and they would most likely make a name for themselves as the best option amongst all the other online loan shops. Right now there are over a hundred options for online tribal loans but most of them don't differ that much from one another. And the worse half of the bunch, which is where White Hills Cash finds itself, are essentially clones of each other, offering the same loan product with nearly identical terms and conditions.
Getting back to White Hills Cash, well the problem here is just that the internet is simply flooded with all kinds of negative reviews on this company. There are more than a few. A company like Clear Creek Lending, for instance, had about 36 complaints at a major complaint board. Having 36 complaints is not that bad, especially since it was over multiple years and some of the complaints were simply by consumers who hadn't read the loan documents and were surprised by the high interest rates they were paying.
White Hills Cash has hundreds and hundreds of complaints, substantially more than Clear Creek Lending. Below are just a few examples...
One man complained about White Hills Cash saying "they did not let me know they deposited money into my account" and then the man continued on by saying they were removing $106 out of his checking account every other week. This is a problem, if it's true of course. There have been other reports of this type of 'forced loan' out there, more than a few people have complained about a non-tribal lender called IdealGelt that does this.
The company gets hold of your information (usually from a loan application you sent to a different lender altogether) and then they approve you for a loan (even though you never applied with them) and then they deposit the money into your account. Now they feel that you have to repay, using the schedule of repayments that you never saw because you never applied with this company and you didn't even know you were getting a loan through them, and they start taking money out of your checking account on an ongoing 14 day basis.
Now with IdealGelt it's pretty much a known issue, but with White Hills Cash we only see this type of complaint occurring a few times, so it's not conclusive. Still, it would seem the company would want to address this complaint very directly and deny the situation ever happened, but nothing like that is found on these complaint boards. No denials and no push back from the company.
Here is another complaint where a customer wrote that they "took out a payday loan for $355 in March 2013. Since then they have withdrawn $106.50 every 2 weeks but are saying I still owe over $500" and this is a common complaint. This type of complaint has got two things going on at the same time. First, it shows that a lot of people just do not read their loan documents when they are digitally signing these short-term, high interest loans. Otherwise, they would know that these repeated withdrawals will be taking place until they pay the loan off in full. Second, it shows just how expensive loans from some Native American lenders can be.
I'm not saying the tribal lenders can't charge this much in interest, it's just that you have to step back and wonder how this business can continue to exist with these hugely expensive rates. White Hills Cash is one of the more expensive tribal lenders, with a high interest rate that doesn't do much to help their customers. You don't want to be late on paying this company because they will add some penalties to the loan and even more money will be spent servicing the loan.
On the whole there is not much more reason to put any other complaints. There are hundreds out on the internet if you're curious for more. The problem for White Hills is simple, which is why do I use this company over a larger and cheaper tribal lender, like Mobiloans or Spotloan? There just is not a reason to, that I can think of. And that's why I say search for another lender, unless White Hills Cash is the lender of last resort.
