Fox Hills Cash is one of the newest tribal lenders to be reviewed at this site, and fortunately we have a few customers who have posted their reviews about the lender at a few of the usual pages around the web. Fox Hills Cash is based in South Dakota but they do not hold a license from the state, they are a wholly owned tribal corporation tied to the Oglala Sioux Tribe (technically an extension of that tribe) and the operations of the company are conducted on the sovereign land of that tribe.
What are customers saying about this lender? For the most part it's nothing good. Remember, as a tribal lender this company is not bound by state laws regulating how much interest can be charged. Now to give credit to Fox Hills Cash most state licensed lenders would not issue loans to the consumers in this 'credit category shall we say. The reality is that tribal lenders are the last resort to get a loan when a consumer's credit score / credit report falls below a certain threshold, which tends to be around the 600 credit score rating.
Let's get started, probably the most meaningful review came from someone named JT who writes the following concerning Fox Hills Cash...
"Received a loan no problem but needed to change my account information and they refused to help via their supposed support email and made me call them (during my work day after they called my cell phone and my work phone multiple times in a short amount of time) - I finally called and explained the situation and next they transferred me to a guy who was a complete dud. He acted really rude, not professional and accused me of not wanting to repay the loan, was super aggressive and accusatory. I'm thinking, why are you acting like this. Refused to do what I needed, kept asking me to repeat myself in the hopes that my story would change so he could catch me in a lie (basically acting like a detective trying to get a crook to constantly repeat the story) and after 10 minutes of him being verbally pissy and pushing me, then he pushed my payment back so I could work out my account. By the way this wasn't my goal or intent when I started talking to him, but by then I had had enough.
The date they pushed it to didn't line up with my paycheck payout date so next I emailed them to push my payment back just one day - simply so the funds could be drawn out of my account on the actual (correct) pay date. Once again they refused to make this very minor change (just unbelievable) to our deal and demand that I call during my work hours. What good is a support email if you refuse to use it to support the customer? Again, here I go, I have to call into the office and get transferred to this jerk again and have him belittle me (again) over moving the date in all honesty just one business day, not the end of the world. Keep in mind I had previous loans with this same company that I had paid off immediately with zero problems or adjustments. And despite that fact they still treat me like I am somehow a scam person. They treat me like a cheating girlfriend. When they cheat they accuse you of being the cheater - and in this instance the company scams you and they accuse you of being the scam artist. This absolutely is the worst experience ever had with a lender, actually any business interaction in my life. Do yourself a favor and use one of the many other tribal installment lenders if you need a loan when your finances are pinched and your credit is not in the best shape. I do not want anyone to encounter the rudeness and lack of professionalism that awaits with these clowns. Remember that these guys are not a Better Business Bureau rated company either so you can't report them to anyone. That alone should be a huge red flag. Please read this review before using them and tell your friends too, stay away!"
Wow, so that was anything but a positive review. Seems like the company has such a tremendous issue with deadbeats not paying them back they are triggered at the slightest hint at the adjustment to the loan, their interpretation of that is the borrower is next going to fail to repay the loan. Tribal lenders have a lot of borrowers who never repay, or never repay in full so it sounds like Fox Hills Cash is also scared of this happening.
Below we have a shorter review from someone named Joy and she basically confirms the behavior described by the first review. She writes...
"Not a good idea to work with these guys. I got a loan from them, only $200 and called the next day to change the debit card payment on file and they just abruptly cancelled the loan altogether. So that's kind of strange. That's not how it would go down at Bank of America, I can tell you that. They said this was a sign I didn't want to pay the loan back at all. But in fact it was me making sure the company would get paid back. See the irony here? I would say run away from them and don't look back, still having trouble understanding what the big deal was here."
So in general we are getting the feeling that Fox Hills Cash is willing to issue you a loan, but you have to make sure that all the paperwork, the banking account and the debit card, everything has to be setup perfectly at the beginning of the loan process. Once the loan is agreed to and/or issued, the company doesn't want any changes to take place. I'm not too impressed by Fox Hills Cash, and the fact they even bothered to issue the one reviewer a $200 loan it makes me see them as unimportant. These lenders that want to issue $200 or $300 loans are not worth our time and I don't think they are worth your time either. Basically an Grade F outfit here. No thanks.
